The Panda Doinker - If you've surfed one, tell us below.
This episode is really long because I love this board and can't stop talking about it. I first heard of Panda Surfboards from a few board requests we got on the website and then I started noticing their boards everywhere from Surf mags to Surf websites to under the feet of Ford Archibold.
The lead shaper at Panda is from Sydney Australia and his boards are widely surfed on the Northern beaches of the city, they've also been popular in parts of Japan for the past couple years and just this summer have been catching on in the U.S. on shop racks on the east and west coast.
When I first saw Pandas shapes the Doinker was the first to catch my eye and I quickly ordered one. I've since surfed it in calf to shoulder high waves and I'm not stressing summer slop waves at all.
Lastly, we threw some FCS fins in to this episode for a discussion on the FCS SF-4 Stretch Quads, the GAM fins and the GXQ trailers.

More on fins
-----------------------
Things like thickness, angle and flex are all important to fin function - but the 20% of fin knowledge you can gain most easily for the biggest impact in your understanding of how fins work is how the width of the base and the length of arc affect turns. Wider bases and more arc create longer, wider turns, while thiner bases and less arc create tighter turns and more pivot in a boards performance. More on fins in a later episode.
Thank you Panda Surfboards for giving me this board for free to feature on Shred Show. Thank you DaKine for sponsoring this episode. All opinions are my own.
