Today, we look at the proposed French F1 circuit on an 85-hectare site in Les Mureaux, Yvelines, located approximately one hour by car or train northwest of Paris. The first race was planned for 2011

This site was strategically positioned to attract a large number of spectators and offered a unique setting for the new home of the French Grand Prix and French motorsport. Yvelines is home to much of the French automotive industry, including a significant Renault facility situated adjacent to the project site. However, the project was officially abandoned on December 1, 2009, by Alain Schmitz, the President of the General Council of Yvelines. It faced opposition due to environmental concerns, particularly because it was located on a major aquifer, as well as a lack of sufficient support from various stakeholders. Enjoy!
