Hello, welcome to today's video of the Bare Minimum Algebra (BMA) series. For today's video, I will go over more examples of how to deal with exponents. In this video, I will go over a few different examples of where you are asked to combine like terms that have exponents.
There are 2 main criteria that need to be true before you can add or subtract terms with expoents.
1.) The base needs to be the same
2.) The exponent needs to be the same
The coefficient does not matter. As long as the base and exponent are both the same, you are able to combine like terms. Keep in mind the wording of the test question. Some equations are solvable even if they don't have the same base and exponent.
