In a world full of high-revving fours and tech-heavy modern bikes, I went the opposite direction and picked up a Suzuki SV1000N — a big, old-school V-twin. In this quick intro review, I talk about why I chose it and whether bikes like this still make sense today.
What drew me to the SV1000N:
• 🔊 The sound – Raw, mechanical, and full of character
• 💪 The torque – Instant pull, usable power, and that classic V-twin punch
• 👀 The looks – Simple, aggressive, and timeless without unnecessary electronics
Big V-twins aren’t popular these days. Manufacturers have moved on, and riders chase peak horsepower numbers instead. But does that actually make bikes like the SV1000N irrelevant… or more special?
This isn’t a spec-sheet comparison or a full review — just my first impressions, why I bought it, and why older bikes with character still deserve attention.
