[WR] Doom Eternal - Horde Mode Nightmare Speedrun in

My greatest achievement yet.

Hard to believe I finally did it, after 2 years of being second only to frosty and suffering from the consequent inferiority complex, I finally did it. Not quite a sub 40, but close. Maybe one day I'll come back and get a sub 40, but for now I'm done, beating Frosty's previous record of 42:48 that stood for, i kid you not, 555 days is enough for me.

This was the first category I ever played in Eternal, and what got me into speedrunning in the first place. With guidance from Xiae I was able to achieve a very good time in the Classic category, and Horde Mode kickstarted my career as an Eternal speedrunner, so big thank you to Xiae for the amazing mentorship, and Frosty for pushing me beyond my limits.

I love combat, I have always been fascinated with combat. It's a shame I have always been behind others when it comes to combat, and I suck even now compared to the legends like Xiae and Frosty, which is why I always defaulted to Movement over Combat when it came to improving mechanics. But now I feel like I have adequately mastered both, and that nothing can stop me from doing what I always wished to do in Eternal, to rip the game up like Xiae once did.

Oh yea, speaking of Xiae. Xiae once challenged me to race horde mode, and it never happened.
Xiae if you're watching this, boot the game back up and let's do it.

This run was by no means perfect, I lost a lot of time everywhere, especially at the end of Round 11 where I got TREMENDOUSLY unlucky with the final marauder, which lost me 2 lives and about 30 seconds. Back in the day when Frosty ran there wasn't even punch cancelling yet, hell, Hugo hadn't even invented the hit game Amogus yet. In those days it was virtually impossible to get a sub 40, but now it's very much possible, Dare I even say sub 38 is possible. Who knows, maybe some time in the future I'll feel strangely motivated to beat this time, but for now I'm happy.

Reshade was not being picked up by OBS and was flickering a lot, sorry about that.
