I walked the Scenic Snake River Trail at Massacre Rocks State Park in southern Idaho—a place of rugged beauty and rich history along the Snake River. This trail showcases dramatic canyon views, fascinating basalt rock formations, and a landscape once traveled by pioneers on the Oregon Trail.
King Saul is rejected by God for his disobedience. Saul was called to lead with faithfulness, but instead he allowed pride and compromise to guide his choices. He obeyed partially, but not completely—and in God’s eyes, partial obedience is still disobedience. His downfall is a sobering reminder that God desires our hearts fully surrendered, not halfway measures.
Massacre Rocks State Park tells stories of struggle and endurance from those who journeyed before us. In the same way, Saul’s story challenges us to walk faithfully, learning from his mistakes and choosing to follow God with humility and obedience.
