Solva Senior Living was founded in 2013 by Christine Forget, a seasoned leader with a deep and personal connection to seniors housing. Raised in Eastern Ontario, Christine grew up surrounded by family members who worked in and managed long-term care (LTC) homes. This early exposure shaped her passion and gave her a meaningful understanding of the complexities and nuances of the industry.

Christine’s professional journey spans decades in both long-term care and retirement living. With formal education in LTC management and extensive leadership experience as a regional and corporate director for some of Canada’s largest seniors housing providers, she recognized a gap in the system: families needed honest, unbiased guidance—not a sales pitch.

Solva was born from that vision. It was created as a trusted resource—a place where people could save time and make informed decisions with confidence. Since its inception, Christine has built a team of local experts—many of whom are industry leaders with deep roots in seniors housing. Their diverse backgrounds and hands-on experience allow them to provide genuine, informed guidance—cutting through marketing noise to help families find the right fit.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Christine was consistently sought after for her expertise, industry knowledge, and forward-thinking vision. In 2014, she was invited to help develop the Retirement Communities Management Program at Algonquin College. Over the following years, she served as faculty and mentor to more than ten cohorts of future industry professionals. During this same period, Christine was also retained by several operators and developers to consult on the design and positioning of retirement communities that reflect the evolving needs of today’s seniors and their families. Her approach has always been grounded in ethics, value, and a wealth of lived experience.

Today, Christine continues to serve in an advisory role at Solva, offering strategic insight, mentorship, and valuable resources to support both the team and the families we serve.

What truly sets Solva apart from other similar services is the foundation on which we operate. Our team is not built on a commission-based model. We are the only advisory team made up entirely of professionals from the seniors housing sector—with decades of direct, hands-on experience.
