How To Create a Perfect Basketweave Stitch in Needlepoint

In this video, I'll show you how to needlepoint using the basketweave stitch. This is one of the most common (and talked about) of the needlepoint tent stitches. This is a step-by-step tutorial of the basketweave stitch, showing you the front and back of the work.

When to use it:
The basketweave stitch is the best background stitch because it is very full coverage and incredibly sturdy. It's great for larger areas and essential for objects that see a lot of wear and tear, like pillows or cushions.

You can use the basketweave stitch seamlessly alongside the other tent stitches (half-cross and continental).
