The Spectacular Storms River Mouth Rest Camp - Tsitsikamma National Park is one of our families favourite destinations in South Africa. A few days at Storms River Mouth National Park - part of the Garden Route in South Africa is such a treat for the soul. Breathing the fresh coastal forest air, hiking, camping and enjoying the sunsets is all part of the fun. Storms River Mouth Nature Reserve, was formerly known as the Tsitsikamma National Park.

There is plenty to do here, including having a good coffee and meal at the local restaurant. Whales, dolphins, birdlife and plenty of wildlife can be seen from the many viewpoints around the park. We love camping here, but there are also a variety of chalets available.

There are several hikes and trail within the National Park, well marked and fairly accessible. Two of the trails require a moderate amount of fitness, due to the climb up a hillside, or over the coastal rocks. We hiked to the swing bridge and the waterfall in this footage. The waterfall is part of the first day of the world-renowned Otter Trail.

Rain or sunshine, Storms River Mouth is a must-see if you are visiting South Africa.
