This work was the second movement of the recorder quartet MAVUMO YA UANA (Childhood memories) which was commissioned by the Loeki Stardust Quartet Amsterdam 2003 (the music was published by MOECK).

Kuagana means farewell. This piece is dedicated to my beloved Grandma, Aenne Paff who gave me love, warmth and protection throughout my childhood. I lost her far too early in 1984. She will never be forgotten.

Matilda Zidkova is a highschool student from the Czech republic. She spends most of her time hiking, doing parkour, reading, solving a mathematical correspondence seminar, listening to music and playing the recorder. Matilda has been studying the recorder since she was 4 years old. She regularly goes to courses to deepen her knowledge about recorders. In 2023 and 2025 I had the honor to accompany her on the piano at my house concerts.

Kuagana war der zweite Satz des Blockflötenquartetts MAVUMO YA UANA, das das legendäre holländische Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet 2003 bei mir in Auftrag gab ( die Noten sind erschienen bei MOECK).

Kuagana heißt Abschied. Dieses Stück ist meiner geliebten Omi Aenne gewidmet, die mir durch all meine Kindheit hindurch Wärme, Liebe und Halt gab. Sie starb viel zu früh 1984. Sie bleibt für immer unvergessen.

Matilda Zidkova ist eine Gymnasiastin aus der Tschechischen Republik. Sie wandert gerne, macht Parkour, liest, löst mathematische Rätsel, hört Musik und spielt Blockflöte. Matilda lernt Blockflöte, seit sie 4 Jahre alt ist. Sie nimmt regelmäßig an Kursen teil, um ihr Wissen über Blockflöten zu vertiefen. In 2023 und 2025 hatte ich die Ehre, sie auf meinen Hauskonzerten am Klavier zu begleiten.
