Cryptomeria Bonsai Fix-Up & Repot

Adam and Ash fix-up a Cryptomeria bonsai tree. It’s a older version of a tree commonly found in garden centres. We change the position of the branches, repot it and give it some love!

It’s a recently arrived tree in need of some TLC. The aim is to get it back in shape without risking damaging it.

The tree starts out in a huge pot which is too big, so we reduce the pot size down. We take off a large crossing root and discuss the development of the nebari.

We do a basic wire only, mainly using guy wires to pull down the branches rather than applying lots of heavy wire, saving time and cost of wire.

Finally, we reduce the height of the tree.
