Upper Clackamas River Kayaking w/ LCCC - 05/18/25 (1,550 cfs)

Upper Clackamas River from Three Lynx to Moore Creek with the Lower Columbia Canoe Club during Clack Fest.

This was a fairly rough day on the water. I never really felt comfortable or in control of my boat. Part of that was probably because it was my first time running this section in a half slice, but overall I just felt off. I was also finishing up physical therapy for tendinitis in my left shoulder, so I didn’t attempt any left-side braces. At first I didn’t want to share this run because it felt like such a mess and I spent a lot of time upside down, but I think it’ll be a good one to look back on. On the plus side, I did manage to roll up every time, despite so many opportunities for a swim. I also got to see another paddler land their first combat roll, which was a really cool moment, even if I started celebrating too early and flipped myself!
