On the eve of the UEFA Women’s Champions League final between FC Barcelona and Arsenal, Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas, and coach Pere Romeu spoke to the media, expressing confidence, respect for their opponents, and a strong ambition to continue making history.

Aitana Bonmatí: “Now we are the mirror”
The recent Ballon d'Or winner avoided direct comparisons with Olympique Lyonnais, acknowledging them as a past reference: “For many years, we looked up to them, but now we are the mirror.” She also praised teammate Caroline Graham Hansen: “She’s one of the best in the world. She makes me better, and I think I make her better too.”

Focused on the present, Alexia said: “You know what you’ve achieved, but you forget quickly. You’re always chasing the next goal.” She acknowledged the challenge Arsenal poses: “A final is unpredictable. But if we’re close to our best, we’ll be close to goals — and to the title.”

Pere Romeu: “If we do what we’ve planned, things will go well”
The Barça coach aimed to relieve pressure on the squad, stressing the importance of treating the final “like any other match.” He reaffirmed his confidence in goalkeeper Cata Coll and highlighted Patri Guijarro’s tactical role: “She enables Aitana and Alexia to play their best football.”

Regarding Arsenal’s possible strategies, Romeu outlined various scenarios: “They may leave spaces, and if they do, we’ll exploit them. If not, we have other options.”
