“The Resin Seam You’re Not Supposed to See”

In this video, I turn a one-of-a-kind art vessel made from mesquite burl, encased in lemon yellow and crystal purple resin. The goal isn’t to erase the natural character of the wood, but to preserve fracture, void, and movement while bringing everything into a clean, balanced form on the lathe.

A key part of this build focuses on a common challenge in resin work: masking a visible witness line from a second resin pour. I show how I approach the transition during turning and finishing so the final surface reads as seamless, with no visible break between pours.
