The Vekoma mad-house is a modern take on a classic ride known as the 'haunted swing', the first of which opened in 1890. The ride uses a swing, within a rotating room, which creates the illusion of turning upside down while actually swinging through a mild 30°.
Hex: The Legend of the Towers, opened at Alton in 2000. Its story takes influence from a local legend, expanding upon the myth to create a fictional ending. Hex (the attraction) stays true to the story told in the video, until the bit about the vault! The tree is still in chains in the woods nearby.
