In the 15th Annual Clifford Law Offices Continuing Legal Education program, Robert A. Clifford, senior partner at Clifford Law Offices, moderates a two-part discussion on lawyer well-being. The first part of the program, "Mind, Body & Soul: Defining Well-Being in Law," explores how the culture shift around well-being and sustained innovation still faces certain challenges. Panelists include Erin Clifford, founder and CEO of Erin Clifford Wellness, Brian Cuban, lawyer and author of the book “Addicted Lawyer,” Judge David Shaheed, Associate Professor at Indiana University School of Environmental and Public Affairs, and Tracy Kepler, Risk Control Director of CNA, former Director of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility.
The second part of the program explores the subject of “Mind, Body & Soul of Diverse Lawyers: The Weathering Effect,” with panelists Lindsey Draper, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Institute of Well-Being and Law, Leslie Davis, CEO of the National Association of Minority and Women Owner Law Firms (NAMWOLF), and Lea Gutierrez, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. The panelists discuss how lawyers of diversity can be impacted by “the weathering effect” and how it can create an erosion of professional, mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health that ultimately influences their outlook and longevity in the profession.
