CATAWOL Records Studio One (2013): The Big Rebuild 2021

A redesign and build of CATAWOL Records Studio One (2013): the model chosen for SilentMode's The Big ReBuild 2021 project.

This is the Director's Cut of the original video, made in response to copyright claims from Thbd and SoundVault. As a result of their overreach, despite following instructions, I'm boycotting their music for future videos.

DIRECTOR'S CUT CHANGES:
the introduction was completely updated;
the video has been shortened by removing unnecessary content;
commentary has been removed;
all but one song used in the soundtrack was replaced, due to a fraudulent copyright claim.

BACKGROUND
The Big ReBuild is a SilentMode original concept, where I challenge myself to redesign an old LEGO Creation using new parts and the skills I've picked up as a LEGO Enthusiast.

This is my first attempt, and SilentMode LIVE viewers chose CATAWOL Records Studio One out of three possible candidates.

ABOUT THE MODEL
CATAWOL Records is a fictitious record label (not to be confused with the real Capitol Records).

Studio One is CATAWOL Record's original music recording studio, located in the basement of their headquarters.

The studio was pivotal to the company's success in its early years and has been preserved in its original state for its cultural significance.

Access to these studios is invite-only and is in high demand from musicians. Many of the label's most successful artists have recorded "unplugged" tracks and albums in this setting.

The original CATAWOL Records Studio One was first posted on Eurobricks, where it received some acclaim. As usual: once submitted as a LEGO Ideas project, some on the forum played the "what's it meant to be" card. Ultimately it failed, having gained less than 60 supporters after a few months.

The new version of CATAWOL Records Studio One was first displayed at the London Brick Festival in 2021, and was also used to promote the next incarnation, The Big ReBuild 2023.
