I absolutely love these fans. They're hugely nostalgic for me, and I love the way they look. This model was one of the many I wished I could have as a kid looking through fan catalogs and sale flyers.
I'm a little bummed but not at all surprised at how loud this fan is, though I'm sure the miserably warped blades are not helping. The fan was a porch pickup, and was laying on its blades when I grabbed it. Two of the blades themselves have a bend around the middle, and I could not for the life of me get them flat again.
If this fan was a little quieter and in better overall shape, I probably would have put it in our living room. The wicker goes super well with the coastal theme my grandma and I are going for in the house.
I'm sorry for the chainsaw noise at the end of the video, I had already re-filmed spindown several times, and I decided so few of you actually watch that part of the video anyway that it probably wasn't worth trying again.
