Butterick’s 1952 vintage dress pattern is one of the best known and most covetable of all time. Supposedly you could start sewing it after breakfast then ‘walk away’ to your lunch date.
Can the tortoise of the dressmaking world (ie me) manage it? Watch this video to see how I got on!

Also of interest in this video is some rather special vintage fabric from Laura Ashley, complete with the Wales Dyers and Printers label from the early 1970s.
