This week brought some unexpected challenges in my university life.
During a group meeting, I shared the emotional process behind my 5-minute solo, but the conversation didn’t unfold in the way I had hoped. It left me reflecting on how communication shapes our creative work and how important it is to feel seen and understood.
I took some time to write an email to clarify my feelings and to express what I need in order to grow as an artist. It wasn’t about blaming anyone — just creating space for a healthier working process.
This also made me think about how communication can sometimes feel uneven in university settings, and how each student may experience things differently. It’s not always easy, but we learn to navigate it step by step.
