The Gran Turismo 7 Backlash (and Why It's a Good Thing)

Over the past few weeks, the latest entry in Polyphony's acclaimed racing series has gone from overwhelming excitement and praise to near-universal contempt, stemming from a variety of issues including forced online requirements to the underhanded use of microtransactions. Fortunately, there may yet be a silver lining on this dark cloud, and Gran Turismo 7, along with the entire videogame industry, may well end up in a better, more pro-customer place once the dust finally settles.
