Singapore Airlines’ first-generation stewardesses Alice Leong and Lily Tan reunited after 40 years and once again donned the iconic Sarong Kebaya, still carrying the grace and poise they were known for in the 1970s. Both joined in the early days of SIA and embody the hallmark “Singapore Girl” elegance shaped through years of training. Alice rose from cosmetics salesgirl to chief stewardess, while Lily left nursing inspired by a neighbour. They recall memorable service moments, noting how the job broadened their horizons, shaped their character, and provided the stability they enjoy today.
