In this video, we explore the different types of tourism in the Lake District, from adventure tourism like hiking and rock climbing, to cultural tourism, where visitors come to see historic sites like Beatrix Potter’s house or Wordsworth’s home. Tourism brings many positives, such as boosting the local economy, creating jobs, and helping to preserve the natural environment through funding. However, there are also negatives, including overcrowding, traffic congestion, and damage to delicate landscapes. Understanding these impacts helps us see both the benefits and challenges of managing tourism in a National Park.
