Mount Ruth - Washington State

Mount Ruth is a beautiful but seldom visited summit along Steamboat Prow on the northern flank of Mt Rainier. The view from the summit is nothing less than amazing and includes a superb bird’s eye view of the largest glacier in the USA outside of Alaska, Emmons Glacier. To get there you must ford the headwaters of the White River and follow a faint, unmaintained scramblers route. However, you are rewarded with world class views and precious solitude that can be hard to find within Mt Rainier National Park, especially during popular summer weekends.
