It’s crazy to think there was ever a time I felt nervous or scared around Rudnik, but it’s true.
For the first year, I was genuinely scared of him because of how unpredictable he could be.
The second year was a bit better but I still couldn’t let my fully let my guard down.
By year 3, we’d built up a lot of trust on the ground and slowly started working our way into the saddle.
Fast forward to today; I have never trusted a horse the way that I trust Rudnik. The transformation he has made since the first day I brought him home is one that I never could have expected
Thinking back about how terrified I was of him - even when he was just a tiny 11 month old scrappy colt. He was unpredictable, dangerous and didn’t care who got in between him and his escape.
He’d rear up at you, throw himself into fence panels, run as far away as he could. Anything to avoid being caught or handled.
We’ve come such a long way since those days ♥️
