CoMotion is a four-player arcade game released by Gremlin Industries in October 1976, known for its early implementation of the "snake" game concept. It is essentially an upgraded, four-player version of Gremlin's earlier, two-player game, Blockade.
The game operates on the same principle as the classic "light cycle" concept, where each player controls a point that constantly moves and leaves a solid "brick wall" trail behind it. The primary goal is to be the last player remaining by forcing opponents to crash into the walls or their own trails.
The game supports two, three, or four players simultaneously, which was a major draw for the game. A single credit typically offered two-player mode, while two credits enabled four-player action.
CoMotion was primarily released in a cocktail-style cabinet design, allowing players to sit or stand around the screen, making it popular in bars and social settings.
