This first video rides on Rafi Sahab's voice, and starts with a lesser known undercurrent in ghazals - Self Esteem. The paeans to the beloved or the pains of the heart may give an impression of poets being always absorbed in devotion and self-pity. Make no mistake about it - poets can write about their pride and esteem in equal fortitude. ('Tum to shayar ho Qateel, aur wo ek aam sa shaks.." - should ring a bell.)
