Description: In its efforts to strengthen faculty professional development, Nebraska Indian Community College (NICC) developed a faculty professional learning community. The Faculty Reflection series and supporting tools focus on course evaluation (through self-assessment and course quality checks), skill development, and building community. These tools were created with faculty input, Indigenous education recommendations, and higher education best practices. The learning series and tools center on six themes: community, organization, cultural connections, content, accessibility, and assessment. The series has helped identify team members’ strengths while providing trainings and resources in areas of growth. Through these tools of self-reflection, course quality checks, and faculty-wide trainings, NICC has seen faculty members’ confidence and connections grow.
