It's time we share all and let you know exactly what is going on...

We are moving to Chattanooga in Tennessee in the United States of America! This has been an emotional roller coaster for us and taken us such a long time due to covid and all the delays that have come with it! It's been an upward battle but its finally happening! We doing it! And we hope you will join us on this journey of moving to a completely new world.

This is only the beginning! This is only the start! We are in search of our great American dream!

Recommended paperwork:

1. Passport - depending on when it expires, this process can take a long time (2+ years in our case) so rather get a new passport that is valid long after your visa is valid
2. Police Clearance Certificate - while this isn't necessary, the process can take a MONTHS to get it and rather know if your record is as you expect it to be
3. Unabridged birth certificate - for your application to stay in US on a Green Card or similar, this will be needed. Get it now before you get to the US and not once you are there. It's easier if you can do it yourself locally in South Africa.
4. Unabridged marriage certificate - like the birth certificate, you will need this and always easier to do it in South Africa.

These documents are all relatively inexpensive but take a lot of time and energy! Make sure you leave yourself with enough time to get them sorted.

When applying for a holiday visa, tax as much documentation with you as you think you can prove, without a doubt that you have ties in South Africa. Show proof of property, assets, jobs, family, partner etc. Every bit helps!
