During my journey deep into the forest, I decided to build an elevated jungle shelter to stay safe from ground hazards such as wild animals, snakes, insects, and the damp conditions on the forest floor. Using natural materials like bamboo, forest wood, and vine rope, I created a sturdy little shelter suspended above the ground, connected by a bamboo walkway overlooking the mountains.
I began by surveying the terrain, looking for a location with strong trees, thick canopy cover, and a clear view for safety. After choosing the spot, I collected bamboo and wood from around the area—selecting pieces that were straight, solid, and durable enough to support the structure.
The most challenging part was building the elevated platform. I used long bamboo poles as support pillars, secured them deep into the ground, then layered bamboo slats to form a firm floor. The aerial walkway was reinforced with handrails to make movement safer and completely avoid dangers from the forest floor.
The main shelter was built with a bamboo frame, wooden wall panels, and a waterproof roof. Though simple, it is strong enough to store gear, rest overnight, and stay protected from the wind. After finishing the structure, I double-checked all joints, reinforced the load-bearing points, and tested the platform to ensure stability.
Once completed, the small treehouse stands beautifully among the forest canopy. The elevated walkway leads to a scenic mountain view, creating a peaceful and immersive experience in nature. This shelter is not only a survival structure but also a unique way to enjoy the wilderness.
