Is digital television in PH worth it now? | A

It has been 71 years since TV first hit the Philippines, and we should have seen a smoother and clearer transition by now. (Now, whatever. It can't be next year as the media industry's mindset is on the midterm elections.)

But over the past month, things have gotten pretty wild with a major commercial giant. They've lost two digital subchannels: a niche one and a duplicate of the flagship channel without the blocktimers. Also, the intended lineup of one seems to be all over the place.

Even though they’re still making a profit and have a good mix of platforms, what’s next for them and for the industry? Is it still worth it, or are we looking at something that might go obsolete soon?
