This school ( Asuansi Technical Institute ) is the First Technical school in West African
History about.
It began as a rural school on 12th August 1917 to train pupils up to standard 3 in reading, writing and arithmetic. It was converted into a Trade School to encourage Vocational Education in Agriculture, Carpentry, Masonry and Metal work in 1922.
