It seemed odd that I did not have to do the step of draining the oil trapped by the anti-drainback valve in the filter. Was the valve working???
I don't think so...
I took it apart and suspect a design error.
When the filter is pushed by the spring (or oil pressure) it pops the silicone valve into a non-working position.
They are going in the bin, just got some nice reliable Fram PH6607's
Now i learn that the private equity firm First Brands (Fram's current owners) is going belly up
