Advance Find And Replace With Excel Wildcard | what are wildcards in excel how to use them | Excel

Find and Replace helps you to find words or formats in a document and can let you replace all instances of a word or format. This is particularly handy in long documents. To use Find and Replace, use the shortcut Ctrl+H or navigate to Editing in the Home tab of the ribbon, then choose Replace.

Excel has 3 wildcards you can use in your Sort & Filter or Find & Replace or formulas:
Asterisk (*) - zero or more characters
Question mark (?) - any one character
Tilde (~) - escape for literal character (~*) a literal question mark (~?), or a literal tilde (~~).

Compatible functions
Not all functions allow wildcards. Here is a list of the most common functions that do:

SUMIF, SUMIFS
VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP

SEARCH
