Steps:
Clear room
Tape off walls and floor
Tape a 2nd layer on floor
Spray ceiling with water
Scrap off texture
Wrap up floor plastic with removed texture
Sand ceiling spots that have imperfections (mainly near wall/trim)
Clean dust-off ceiling with mop and water
Spray ceiling texture
Remove floor and wall plastic
Paint trim
Primer and paint ceiling
have Home Depot install new carpet (not in cost and time estimate)
Paint walls
Move back in
