Filmed throughout 2015, "Is Blikkies Home?" captured the ongoing fight against spatial violence and housing struggles and followed the process of community mobilization that the residents of Blikkiesdorp, an informal settlement in Cape Town, South Africa, have undertaken and are still experiencing. Together with the Open Democracy Advice Centre (ODAC) and a coalition of organizations, including The Right to Know, The Development Action Group, the Community Law Centre, and the Legal Resources Centre, the community have pushed to gain access to information from Aiport Company South Africa and the City of Cape Town about the plans for their housing and relocation. ODAC's mission is to support the community in their struggle for adequate housing by assisting them to access quality, credible, and useful information.
