I Know There's an Answer - The Beach Boys - BASS COVER

Hey everyone!

Different kind of video today. I decided to do a bass cover that I don't think has been done for this song on YouTube.

If my fretting appears a little wonky, note I had to film myself at just the right angle for the bass playin' action to be visible. This video took a while to get right, from playing on tempo to lining up the audio of my bass playing with the song. But I'm glad my determination paid off.

Anyway, talk about a great line! Fantastic use of the octave shape, and some great connecting line in between the verse and choruses. Fantastically melodic and moody, and wonderfully adventurous like so many other Pet Sounds tracks.

By ear initially on the choruses, I played instinctually an a sharp and c, a fifth below the f and g that's switched between before that quick jump to the d and c. Which honestly, at first, was tonally confusing to me, but I understood how it fit. Mr. Brian Wilson really had a knack for unconventional, but very good basslines.

This bassline was one of the first that made me understand the melodic purpose of bass in music, so I guess it's sorta special to me. Aside from this maybe not being a super duper perfect cover, I really hope you all enjoy!
