A wet and wild night under the lights at Langwith Road as Shirebrook Town hosted Glossop North End in the Derbyshire Senior Cup! 🌧️⚽
Before kick-off, I caught up with Shirebrook’s Kian Tansley to chat about tonight’s cup tie, the team’s mindset going into the game, and of course, the new Shirebrook kit that’s been getting plenty of attention this season. 👕💬
Conditions were tough from the start — heavy rain made the pitch tricky, but it was Glossop who adapted better and looked sharp early on. Just 8 minutes in, a challenge from Brandon Clarke saw him shown a straight red card, leaving Shirebrook with a mountain to climb. 😬
From there, it was one-way traffic, as Glossop took control and eventually broke the deadlock before adding two more before half-time to go 3–0 up at the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern — Glossop were dominant and added two more to seal a 5–0 win on a difficult night for Shirebrook in tough conditions.
A tough night for the home side, but full credit to Glossop North End, who showed their class throughout. 👏
