Heritage boatbuilding with recycled plastic.
This is the title Flipflopi named the course we launched in October 22.
But this course entails so much more: From environmental conservation, machine building and operation, circular economy and design, traditional skills as well as modern technologies, research and testing - we cover everything under the lens of how to use innovation and circular principles to manage plastics while preserving the local heritage.
We are happy to have had the opportunity to train 30 students to date, and proud to have finalised this year's cohort, who will now be looking forward to their exam results and graduation, while some of the students continue their training with our team 👐🏽
Incredibly grateful for the support of The Portuguese Embassy in Kenya for supporting the recently completed course and the SMEP programme which enabled this course to take place.
