Within many health systems there remain significant disparities in the ease with which men and women access quality healthcare. This is true for conditions which afflict both sexes and those which only, or more frequently, affect women. What steps are needed to ensure equitable access to fertility and maternal care as well as in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions like heart disease, autoimmune disorders and mental health illnesses, which are more prevalent in women? Menopause is beginning to gain attention from governments, healthcare providers and employers but what action is still needed to better support women through this and all stages of life?
