Samuil Feinberg: Piano Sonata No.3, 3rd Mov. (Eric Xi Xin Liang)

Recorded on February 4th, 2022 at Conrad Grebel University College (part of the University of Waterloo campus).

This movement is heartwarming, achingly tragic, determined annihilation.

I had to crop the video this time so I'm out of view since there's so many page turns for just a ~14 min movement. Since I cut out the page turns, I thought the visual cuts were kind of distracting, hence why you only see my hands this time. Also, I recorded the 1st and 2nd movements, but I wasn't satisfied with them yet, so maybe I'll re-record it in the near future once I fix some things. In the meantime, enjoy the 3rd movement! (which is the most hyped)

It's been a bit over a year since I originally learned this movement in its entirety, but decided not to record it at the time since my home piano cannot withstand the brutal pounding this movement demands. But then, since I've only recently enabled myself to not hold back on my power, while I was recording this, I realized that I don't actually have enough stamina to maintain perfect mental concentration the whole time, hence why sometimes you'll hear I lose a bit of accuracy. Also, I recorded this like 3 times and this is the 3rd attempt so I was pretty tired this run-through oof.

Trivia:
The hardest parts of this movement were actually the sections I had no passion in practising 😂
There are a lot of missing 8va, clef changes, and ties in this score, but it's easy to tell where it's missing
