Testing out a brush blade on my trimmer to thin out some laurel sumac.
This looks aggressive but is necessary to reduce wildfire risk and this variety of sumac is extraordinarily hardy and will regenerate from the remaining root stock.
Initial review of the brush blade is that it works well on soft wood vegetation. It does not work well on dried wood (deadfall). Also the small diameter means that it does not clear debris as ordinary trimmer line would.
