Hollywood Goes to NATO: Telling the Story of the Alliance

Communicating the purpose, value and capabilities of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to allied publics in a manner that resonates with wider audiences is a perennial challenge. One significant dimension to this problem: the key community that regularly communicates and connects with allied (and global) audiences – Hollywood’s screenwriters – have had limited, if any, exposure to NATO and how it works.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) recently led a delegation of eight Hollywood screenwriters on a study trip to gain insight into the value of NATO ahead of the Washington Summit.
