Why Do Luxury Cars Have Piano Black Trim? Audi RS3 Carbon Trim Install!

👋 After a long search I've finally found the perfect carbon fiber trim piece to replace the piano black in the center shift area for our Audi RS3! The 8Y Audi RS3 is one fun performance sedan packing over 400 HP! The interior is very nice with Nappa leather and real carbon fiber on the dash. However the shift surround is just one huge piece of shiny black plastic. This gloss black interior trim is prone to finger prints, dust and scratches! Also the sun reflects on it and can blind you easily. So today I replace the shift surround trim with a genuine carbon fiber part that even matches the OEM carbon! This is the Carbon Fabrik shift surround replacement. Full replacement part made from OEM quality materials. To remove your stock part, use some plastic trim tools to pop up the top section. It helps using your fingers to get a grip under the panel to un click the part. Then with a thin flat head screwdriver and a cloth around it, pop the lower section off. Un plug the 4 plugs after that. You car may beep at you but it stops when you plug things back in. With the whole piece off you can un screw the 4 screws and disassemble the whole piece from the shift buttons. Un click the gloss black piece and then click in the new carbon fiber part! Everything goes back in perfectly like an OEM part and now the RS3 has a very nice OEM matching carbon fiber shift surround! Really makes the interior that much better! Matches well and look how it should have come from factory. By far one of the best modifications to do for the 8Y Audi RS3 to make the interior pop!
