Anakin (desperate): "I can protect them! I have the power now! No one will ever hurt them, or you. We can rule together, make the galaxy safe for our family."
Padmé (shaking her head): "I don't want to rule, Ani. I want to love. I want to raise our children somewhere they can be free, be happy. Not in fear…But it's not too late. It's never too late to choose differently."
Anakin (confused): "Padmé, I can't go back. What I've done... there's no forgiveness for what I've done."
Padmé (urgent): "Then don't go back. Come forward. With me. We'll leave, Ani. All of this...Palpatine, the Empire, the war...we'll leave it behind. Take me somewhere safe, somewhere our children can grow up knowing their father chose love over power."
Anakin (voice barely a whisper): "The Chancellor... he'll never stop hunting us. He'll find us wherever we go."
Padmé (fierce): "Then we'll keep running. Together. Our children won't know war, won't know the names Vader or Sidious. They'll know their parents loved each other enough to give up everything for them."
Anakin (looking at his hands): "I've killed so many people, Padmé. Masters who taught me. Children who trusted me. How do I live with that?"
Padmé (taking his hands in hers): "One day at a time. By choosing to be better tomorrow than you were today. By being the father our children deserve."
He looks toward her ship, then back at the facility where bodies lie cooling in the artificial twilight. Everything he's built, everything Palpatine promised him, suddenly seems hollow compared to the life she's offering.
Anakin (decision hardening): "Okay. Yes. We'll go. Right now, before..."
Obi-Wan Kenobi emerges from Padmé's ship, his weathered face carved from stone. Anakin's yellow eyes return instantly, rage flooding through him like molten metal.
Anakin (voice turning cold): "You brought him. You brought him here to kill me."
Padmé (shocked, spinning around): "Obi-Wan? How did you...I didn't know..."
Obi-Wan (anguished): "I'm sorry, Padmé. I couldn't let you face him alone. Not after what he's done."
Anakin (backing away): "This was a trap. You never meant any of it."
Padmé (urgent, moving between them): "No! Ani, I meant every word! I didn't know he was there!"
Obi-Wan (lowering his blade slightly): "Anakin, I've seen the Temple. The security recordings. But Padmé is right...it's not too late. Surrender. Face justice. Let the Council decide..."
Anakin (bitter laugh): " What Council master? There’s no council left. Even if there was, they’d execute me for what I've done."
Obi-Wan (pained): "Perhaps. But running won't change what you've become. The dark side will consume you completely if you don't face what you've done."
The three of them stand frozen in tableau...master, apprentice, and the woman caught between them. Volcanic vents hiss in the distance, filling the silence with the planet's tortured breathing.
Padmé (voice cutting through the tension): "Stop. Both of you, just stop."
Padmé (firm): "Obi-Wan, did you come here to save him or to judge him?"
Obi-Wan (surprised): "I... I came to stop him from hurting you."
Padmé (looking back at Anakin): "And you, Ani. Do you want to keep running toward more darkness, or do you want to run toward the light?"
Anakin (confused): "What do you mean?"
Padmé (moving closer to him again): "I meant what I said. We leave. Together. But not as conquerors or Sith or anything Palpatine made you. As a family. As people who choose love over everything else."
Obi-Wan (realization dawning): "Padmé, the Empire will hunt you to the ends of the galaxy. Palpatine will never let his apprentice simply walk away."
Anakin (quiet): "Then we make sure he can't find us."
Anakin (to Obi-Wan): "I know what I've done, Master. I know there's no forgiveness for it. But she's offering me something I never thought I'd have again. A chance to be more than the monster I became."
Obi-Wan (heavily): "The younglings, Anakin. The Knights. Your friends. How do you live with that?"
Anakin (meeting his gaze): "By making sure my children never have to make the choices I made. By being better than what Palpatine turned me into."
Obi-Wan (voice thick): "If you run, I can't protect you. I can't help you if the Empire finds you."
