I avoid products with humectants high on the ingredients list until "day-ten hair," after layering moisture-repellent and moisture-neutral ingredients like shea butter, cosmetic-grade aloe gel, and Sheena’s Hydrate, Nourish, and Strengthen. By day ten, my hair is primed for a modified wash-and-go; I apply a generous amount of drugstore gel to my hair while dry, working in small sections to ensure each strand is covered. This style lasts the final three days before wash day.
