What is a Self-Directed IRA?
A Self-Directed IRA, also known as a SDIRA, is a type of individual retirement account that allows you to invest in alternative assets.
While you receive the same tax-advantages as a standard IRA, with a Self-Directed IRA, you can expand
beyond the traditional Wall Street assets and open up your investment possibilities to real estate, cryptocurrency, and more!
What can I Invest in with a Self-Directed IRA?
The beauty of a Self-Directed IRA is that you can invest in almost any asset! In fact, the IRS has documented only three types of investments that are off-limits: collectibles, s-corporation stock, and life insurance.
With a Self-Directed IRA, you can invest in Real Estate, cryptocurrency, private placements, promissory notes, startups, crowdfunding opportunities and beyond!
What is a Self-Directed Checkbook IRA?
Broad offers the Self-Directed Checkbook IRA, which is a type of Self-Directed IRA that gives you the power of checkbook control.
Checkbook control allows you to invest in alternative assets without the need for a custodian for everyday transactions.
How do I set up a Self-Directed Checkbook IRA with Broad Financial?
First, you’ll set up a Self-Directed IRA with our sister company, Madison Trust. Once the Self-Directed IRA is established, transfer or rollover funds from a previous retirement account or make an initial contribution.
Madison Trust will be there to guide you through the account setup process and maintain your IRA.
Then, Broad will supercharge your Self-Directed IRA by setting up an IRS-compliant LLC or Trust.
Once the LLC or Trust is established, you’ll set up a dedicated checking account at the bank of your choice in the name of the entity.
Next, Madison Trust will transfer the funds from your Self-Directed IRA to your dedicated LLC or Trust checking account.
Finally, you’ll have the ability to invest in what you want, when you want, by writing a check or sending a wire!
Are you looking to start your self-directed investing journey? We’ve got you covered.
One of our friendly and knowledgeable Self-Directed Specialists will be happy to answer any questions you have. It’s time for you to gain control of your investment ideas with Broad Financials' Self-Directed IRA!
