In this video, I’m showing a humanoid robotic hand that mirrors my real hand movements in real time using computer vision and embedded systems.
A webcam tracks my hand, Python interprets finger gestures with MediaPipe, and an ESP32 controls multiple servo motors through a PCA9685 driver to recreate the motion on a 3D-printed robotic hand.
I was inspired by my classmates’ senior design projects and wanted to challenge myself to build something like this on my own. It took some time - I had to learn how to work with microcontrollers (ESP32), 3D printing, servo motors, power management, and how to control multiple servos together.
College gave me the foundation, and this project became my first step toward bringing that knowledge into real life. There’s still a lot I want to improve, but I’m excited to keep learning and building more projects like this.
