Center for Bioethics and Culture Executive Director Kallie Fell appeared on a Pregnancy, Birth & Informed Consent panel at the Women's Health & Fertility Roundtable sponsored by the MAHA Institute and The Heritage Foundation. Her remarks eloquently break one very often overlooked issue with creating families using assisted reproductive technologies: the increased risks of severe complications, including mortality, to both mothers and babies. Ethics must be considered when attempting to address subfertility in healthcare, as the prevailing technologies are not only dangerous, they are often unsuccessful.
