Chasing The Sunset: A Breathtaking Evening At Calhau Da Lapa 🌅

Calhau da Lapa, situated in the parish of Campanário - Madeira, is a small bathing area known for its peaceful atmosphere and the excellent quality of its waters. I set out to watch the sunset there!

The descent to get there is really really tough! I don't know why but i thought it was much shorter! it takes roughly 30 minutes to go down the steep cliff, while being careful not to slip and tumble down the steps, and around 40 to go back up once the visit is over lol The first time I went to Calhau da Lapa there were no rails, so it was even worse. Once I got down to the bottom my legs felt like jelly! 🤣

But the place is amazing. Apparently there's some structural problem with the cliffs there and so people aren't staying overnight anymore, and it's starting to look a little bit abandoned. Still, the sunset was amazing and was well worth the trip and the pain in the legs for 3 days after.
